The most important requirement for a tonearm for record playback is to accurately transmit the music signal picked up by the phono cartridge to the phono amplifier. To achieve this, Saeku developed a unique double knife-edge system that delivers exceptional sensitivity and rigidity. However, achieving this level of precision with processing technology from 40 years ago required skilled craftsmen to assemble and adjust the system. The WE-4700 manufactures all of the tonearm's components, including the key components related to the double knife-edge, in-house. Furthermore, the WE-4700's key double knife-edge mechanism is machined with ultra-precision, down to the micron level, using cutting-edge technology to further enhance its operating characteristics and rigidity. Another key feature is the use of a proprietary cable for the internal wiring, featuring high-conductivity PC-Triple C conductors and an insulating material made from porous natural materials, ensuring optimal signal transmission even with weak signals. The WE-4700, which heralds a new beginning thanks to modern knowledge and technology, maximizes the capabilities of phono cartridges and opens up a never-before-experienced world of analog audio.
