The Point-Sound-Source system focuses on precise imaging through the alignment of the speaker's driver units. Wave-fronts from each unit will arrive simultaneously to the listener's ears regardless of listening position, allowing the system to sound as though there is a single sound source. The newly developed flat coaxial two-way speaker unit, combining midrange and treble drivers, works with a virtual coaxial woofer to realize a point sound source, providing smooth directional characteristics over the entire frequency range, without peaks or dips.
Phase precision Driver's offer faithful reproduction of mid to high frequency sound with an all-new flat coaxial two-way drive. A low distortion 16-cm Long Stroke Woofer is capable of reproducing super-low frequencies with a dramatic reduction in distortion, giving a powerful and dynamic bass response. Each driver is house within the high rigidity entasis form cabinet which reduces undesired resonance with a 50mm thick baffle. Combining all of these features and more, the Technics SB-R1 is a reference class speaker fit for studio and personal use.
